Trinidad Graffiti Removal Task Force
The Trinidad Graffiti Removal Task Force was formed in response to the need within the community to respond to and remove graffiti from the community.  The task force consists of members of the Trinidad Police Department, The Las Animas County Sheriffs Department and the 3rd Judicial District Probation Department.  The task force utilizes individuals sentenced to community service by the 3rd Judicial District Courts and the Trinidad Municipal Court.  The Task Force removes graffiti from public properties.   Graffiti may be removed from private property upon the property owner signing a consent form allowing the task force to enter the property and remove the graffiti. The Trinidad Graffiti Removal Task Force operates with donations from private individuals, businesses and court ordered restitution.

Citizens are asked to report Graffiti to Public and Private Property, to the Trinidad Police Department at 719-846-4444, by calling 719-845-TIPS (8477), by sending a tip via the "GRAFFITI COMPLAINT" link on this web site or by contacting Det Sgt Phil Martin at 719-846-9843 ext 108 or martin@trinidadcopd.org .

When making a report of graffiti, please make sure to provide the location of the graffiti, if the graffiti is located on public or private property, approximate length of time that Graffiti has been at location and information if you want the Graffiti Removal Task Force to contact you.

If you observe graffiti being placed on property by an individual, you are asked to call 911 immediately and provide all information to the 911 operator, to include suspect description, direction of travel, location of incident, etc.

The City of Trinidad has an ordinance in place that prohibits the placement of graffiti on public and private property, the possession of graffiti materials by persons under 18 years of age and the prohibition of sales of graffiti materials to persons under the age of 18.  For more information regarding the City of Trinidad Graffiti Ordinance, please contact Det Martin at the above number or email.
